Ride For Life XXVIII Classic Harley Davidson 5/3/14 Ride for Life is a two day event filed with lots of activities for everyone. This fundraising event benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association and is the largest netting motorcycle event for MDA.
Wildlife Kayak Blue Marsh Lake 5/9/14 Grab your paddles, life jackets, binoculars,cameras and canoe/kayak and join the Berks County Parks and Blue Marsh Lake staff for a flat water paddle on Blue Marsh Lake. You will head out from Peacock Road in search of wildlife, both on land and in the water.
Children’s Fishing Rodeo Hunsicker’s Grove Park 5/10/14 Stillness surrounds the lake, as lines are cast and expectant faces eagerly await their first catch, hoping it’s a big one!  Welcome to the Children’s Fishing Rodeo at Hunsicker’s Grove in Mertztown, where children ages 4 to 15 can learn the art of fishing on Saturday, May 10th from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Free Mother’s Day Concert Reading Public Museum 5/11/14 Enjoy a special program of music by The Reading Philharmonic Orchestra presented rain or shine on our Stone Terrace in The Museum’s Arboretum. This performance is presented FREE and is from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs in case the limited audience seating under the tent is full.
Alice in Chains Performance Santander Center (Sovereign Center) 5/13/14 Known best for ’90s alt-rock hits such as “Rooster,” “Man in the Box” and “Would”, Alice in Chains are touring in support of their 2013 album ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here,’ which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart when it was released in May.
Lego Club at SVCL SV Community Library 5/22/14 Calling all Lego enthusiasts! We choose a theme and everyone will create a masterpiece to be displayed in the library. No registration required. We supply the legos- just bring yourself! And maybe a friend.

A Berks County man died of natural causes before his car crashed in Sinking Spring early Monday morning, officials said.
N.J. man convicted of third-degree murder in death of ex-girlfriend, a KU student 4/30/14 A 26-year-old New Jersey man was convicted today in Berks County Court of third-degree murder for fatally injuring his ex-girlfriend by driving away while she was standing on his truck’s running board in December 2008.
Canceled: Amber Alert for missing 20 month old Berks County child 4/30/14
UPDATE: Pennsylvania State Police have confirmed the capture of the woman who is accused of abducting her 20-month old child in Berks County. She is in police custody. The child is safe.
